Rehabilitation Specialist Five Day Training
Course Description:
This five day rehabilitation series will progress the therapist or Pilates instructor in using the functional movements of Pilates to assess the neuromuscular system using the Pilates Movement Screen (PMS(TM)) and then to assist the client in optimizing their movement patterns to reduce pain, optimize function, and prevent injury.
Course Objectives:
1) Students will adopt a visual scan using the Pilates Movement Screen (PMS(TM)) to identify distal movements that can reveal proximal imbalances and then use those distal movements to teach new more healthy movement patterns.
2) Students will list and describe the many types of relationships and partners that muscles have with each other and how counseling these relationships will optimize movement.
3) Students will defend that healthy movement needs practice and will choose Pilates movements to match life challenges and goals for their clients.
4) Students will combine the visual scan of PMS(TM) with evidence based research to pair mobility and stability effectively to create optimal movement.
